1- Come up with Questions for yourself before, during, and after the reading session.
2- Ask yourself what is happing in the text, why its happening, and what would happen if one event or fact was different.
3- Note what interests you, Take a moment to make some mental commets, out loud if possible.
4- Train yourself to Summarize, a section at a time, what are the main points in the text just you read? What are the logical conclusion and ramification.
